Meet Our Staff

At Trunkey Dental, our staff is dedicated to providing you with our “Five Star” service. Each member of our team works together to meet all the dental needs of our patients in a gentle, professional, and caring manner. We take great pride in our knowledge and experience and are committed to making your next visit a great one.

Clinical Administrator

Kathy oversees Trunkey Dental’s day to day functions to provide our patients with a wonderful experience and our staff with an awesome place to work. Kathy met Dr. Trunkey while she was in nursing school and he was in dental school. They got married two weeks after their graduations and, in January of 1981, they purchased this wonderful dental practice here in Bakersfield.

Kathy loves to cook, lead bible study, read and travel. With both her children and grandchildren living out of state, traveling has become a great adventure for her and Dr. T. She loves us all here at Trunkey Dental, which is why she always keeps our tummies happy with her delicious creations. Hungry? Stop by the office anytime and surely she’s got a lasagna here somewhere!

Treatment Coordinator/Front Office Team Leader

Brandi beautifully handles a variety of jobs, from scheduling and  financial arrangements to front office administration. She takes great pride in connecting with our patients and is an expert in assisting patients make their dental dreams a reality.

Brandi is a Bakersfield native who runs on coffee and country music. She recently married the love of her life, Tim, and together they are raising three children. Brandi is also a huge animal lover. Her two dogs run the show at home and that’s just the way she likes it!

Office Assistant

Pat was voted as the one person each of our staff would like to have at their back in a dark alley! Quite the spitfire, Pat can handle any task, great or small, that’s thrown her way. Her philosophy is “it takes a village” to keep an office running smoothly. This is where Pat’s skills are greatly appreciated.

She’s been in the dental field off and on since 1974, over half of the dental years being with Trunkey Dental! Pat enjoys spending time attending the sporting events of any one of her fifteen grandkids! She also loves reading, shopping and visiting with her children.

RDAEF2/Back Office Team Leader

Melanie is an outstanding dental assistant, who’s been in the field since 2001. Earning her RDAEF in 2015, she enjoys helping her patients have healthy smiles and managing our back office with excellence. Our patients appreciate her soft touch and know they are in exceptional, caring hands as she has made the comfort of her patients a top priority.

Melanie and her husband Josh have three adorable daughters who love spending time with all the animals on their mini-farm. She enjoys family movie nights, trips to the beach, and making her back-yard look Pinterest-worthy. Melanie makes us all green with envy when she returns from her lunch hour with amazing thrift store and antique finds!

Patient Coordinator

Leah is the wonderfully friendly face you see when you walk in our door. In the dental field since 2015, Leah loves to help our patients maximize their dental benefits while achieving the smile they desire.

Leah is a hometown girl who loves spending time outdoors, camping with her family and creating precious memories with her grandchildren. A little-known fact about Leah is that she loves peanut butter and jalapeno jelly sandwiches on sourdough bread!! Who is this girl??

Office Assistant

Brenda joined us in 2018 after many years in the banking industry.  She’s been a great addition to our Trunkey Dental family, pitching in at the front desk whenever we need her. Brenda was born and raised here in Bakersfield and married her high school sweetheart, who just happens to be our one and only Dr. Jeff. Together they have three handsome boys. Brenda is a huge LA Dodger fan, so don’t be surprised if you spot her at the stadium or wearing Dodger Blue!

Registered Dental Assistant

Griselda moved to Bakersfield in 2010. She is a wonderful asset to our Trunkey Dental family. With 19 years’ experience, she loves to help others and enjoys making them smile. You will recognize Griselda as she is the one with the beautiful flowers in her hair!

Never one to sit still for very long, Griselda also enjoys swimming, skating, traveling and playing games with her husband and four kids. And if that’s not enough to do, she enjoys listening to music and spending time with her 4 sisters and 3 brothers.

Dental Assistant

Kelsey recently moved back to Bakersfield after working in beautiful Alaska for 4 years, coordinating services for busloads of eager tourists. She left the wilds of Alaska to return home to raise her baby close to family. She has been a dental assistant for 5 years, but with hospitality in her background, she is no stranger to going above and beyond for patients’ comfort and happiness. Just like family is important to her, she strives to make all patients feel as if they are one of her own.
When Kelsey is not working, she is probably lost somewhere outdoors with her daughter. Her passion for outdoors has taken her to some beautiful places. She also enjoys the slow days of summer spent with family, especially when there’s good music and good food.

Registered Dental Hygienist

Fatima is one of our very talented hygienists and has managed to capture the hearts of her many grateful patients. Aside from Fatima’s sweet disposition, she is also exceedingly gentle and approaches her craft with a delicate hand.

Spending time with her husband Joseph and their two sons is Fatima’s favorite hobby! When they aren’t running to their son’s baseball practices and games on the weekends, you can find them riding the sand dunes by the coast or desert.

Registered Dental Hygienist

Alissa has recently returned to our fair city and we were fortunate enough to have her choose us! Alissa finds that her patients’ comfort is first and foremost on the list of her specialties. She has been in the dental field for ten years and takes great pride in her relationships with her patients and coworkers.

When Alissa isn’t taking care of our beloved patients, she is spending time with her two little girls. You can also find her in church or traveling, reading or visiting with her friends and family.
